Hi: I thought I should alert the neighborhood of a young black man, age 16 to 18, dressed in black pants and white baggy tee-shirt carrying a backpack, who walked up the 500 and 600 blocks of Washington Street ringing doorbells. I watched him systematically approach
each front door, ring the bell, then step back on the steps and look carefully at the door, the window(s) and the yard. He did this all the way up the street, one side only. I didn't any door opened on his way up. I stopped watching him as his got higher on the hill.
He knew another neighbor and I were watching. He could have been a sales person, but he did not look like one. He looked like his was checking out our street. Just thought I would alert everyone to keep an eye out on other streets in the area. Also this got me thinking about the Neighborhood Alert Program. I understand the Police Dept. has discontinued the program but I am checking to see if they are still handing out materials to post on the houses? Will let you know. At least the neighbors should be aware….
