Ladies and Gentlemen:

If you are receiving this e-mail it is because I have worked with you at some level over the year, while assigned to Community Services.  I am writing to inform you that due to continued budget cuts to the police department, the Community Liaison position will be eliminated come the first of the year.

The City will be laying off police officers and demoting supervisors, so I will be assigned as the Swing Shift Patrol Sergeant on the weekend shift.   If you still need to contact me regarding ABC liquor license sign-offs, my work hours will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1430 hours to 0300 hours, and one Thursday a month from 1400 hours to midnight.

For those of you who have my cell phone number, that number has not changed.  All others, I can be reached either by e-mail, or by calling 648.4321.  Say my name when the automated system picks up and you should be transferred to a voicemail system (e-mail is still the best way).

It has been my pleasure working with and getting to know all of you.  Together we made some impact in Vallejo one way or another.  Unfortunately, I was unable to accomplish all the goals that I set out to do, but that happens. I will not be taking on any new cases and there is no one to refer you folks to.  Hopefully, the City will start to rebuild the police department within the next 5 years and offer you all the services we once provided.

The services that are currently remaining are the Traffic Division, Investigations Division and Patrol Division.  For abandoned vehicle and parking complaints the Traffic Division can be reached at 648.4329.  All other inquiries should be made by calling the main number, 648.4321.  You can research police calls for service at vallejopd.com, click on "crime analysis."  For emergencies program 552.3285 into your cell phones and/or dial 911 from land lines.

I wish you all safety and good health.

Kindest Regards,

Brett Clark #436, Sergeant

Hmmm, so some residents have the special access to police and some don't? Why not post this number for all?

I suppose the rest of us can just call the public numbers (which aren't answered).

Things like this lower the low opinion most people already have of the Vallejo PD.
