Neighborhood Alert

Hi,
I received this on late on February 18Th, this neighbor did exactly what he should do. He watched out for his neighbor while maintaining his safety, we should thank the Sheriff's office for the quick response.

Good Evening Rich,

I didn't have plans to communicate with you so quickly on more neighborhood issues.  I just witnessed one of the tenants on Indiana Street get mugged, robbed and assaulted.  Victim was outside his home smoking a cigarette as always and was approached by 8-9 young black men around 9:30pm; all juveniles & or young black adults were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and dark colored clothing.  I had just returned from the 24 HOUR GYM and was pulling into my driveway when I observed this act of cowardliness and violence.  Ironically I saw this same group walking North on Amador at 8:05pm towards the High School, as I left earlier.  I was already walking up the stairs to my house when I heard the victim get attacked.  I shouted loud and clear, hey, hey, the Police has been called as I cautiously watched my own safety from 350 feet away!

I dialed 911 from my mobile phone and CHP Dispatch answered; it was transfered to Vallejo Police Department and I was related someone would be on the way.  Solano County Sheriff responded in 3.5 minutes from my initial call.  I am happy to report the Sheriff Department did stop a group of young men fitting the description on Tuolumne at Ohio/Springs Rd.  I am not clear if the victim was able to recover his phone, money and wallet, but did sustain several bruises to his face and arms.   I still feel our neighborhoods in the area are safe...these juveniles/young adults believe these acts are funny.  Who is raising these kids??  These are random acts of violence, cowardness and opportunists.  We should stay alert, vigilant and keep reporting any and all suspicious activities or events.  It is important to know and talk to your neighbors to build strong communities and let delinquents, thugs alike they are not welcomed here.

When can we fence off the neighborhood and keep these kids from walking thru?
