Update on 120 Rincon

Hi,
In response to all my e-mails I have some information on 120 Rincon. I heard back from Mr. Santa Cruz, Superintendent of the Vallejo Unified School District, there were no functions at the Vallejo High School and no school sponsored functions on Friday night. The party must have started somewhere else and moved here. I also received numerous e-mails from Chief Nichelini and some Council members. The Chief asked me if I wanted to come listen to the dispatch calls and said they were swamped at the time. There were 10 officers on duty at the time and all came to 120 Rincon as well as the CHP helicopter. There were no signs of anyone wounded, but there were some shell casings. I for one was pleased with their response even if it took longer than we would like.
One of our members spoke to the owner of the house, it is in foreclosure and due to be auctioned off this week. The tenants are there illegally and are being evicted this week so this might have been a one time event for the location. If I get anymore information I will pass it on.

Neighborhood Alert

Hi,
As all of you know that near the corner of Valle Vista and Rincon there was a party last night at 120 rincon that got out of hand. Shortly after midnight we were woken up by 4 gunshots, I got out of bed and looked out the window and there were several hundred kids milling around. Shortly thereafter I think every police office on duty in town showed up and broke the party up. The house in question is in forclosure and some people are "renting" the house right now and will not leave. If this happens again, and I hope it doesent, we need to be aware of our saftey. Do not go out and stand on the street to see what's going on, call Vallejo Police and STAY in your home. Gunshots don't know were they are going to stop. I did have several people e-mail and talk to me about the fact the the police dispatcher were not very responsive to the calls. I have asked some people to look into the situation and see if I can get anymore information and will forward when I get it.
Be Safe,
Rich

Neighborhood Alert

Hi,
Recieved this today, I don't know if there is a solution for this, but here is the info.
Rich

I don't know if there is some way you can pass this along in the neighborhood, and I didn't have any one else's email at the VNA, but I wanted to report that two pots of herbs (!) were stolen from a table near our front door sometime between 10pm last night and 6am this morning. Also a large stone was moved out of our yard into our neighbor's - we're pretty sure it wasn't them, even though we don't know them. Wondering if someone is swiping landscape stuff, or what.

Go figure. It's small, I know, but wanted to pass the word. First time we've had any trouble at all.

The Spring 2010 Newsletter is Here!

Hi,

It’s time again for a meeting of the Vista Neighborhood
Association. We have changed the date to Tuesday,
April 6Th at 6:30 p.m. Everyone seemed to enjoy the
presentations at the last meeting so we decided to try
to get someone to speak at this meeting. I am happy to
announce that Dr. Reynaldo Santa Cruz, Superintendent of
the Vallejo Unified School District, will be present to
speak to us. We have asked him to address the impact of
the moving of students from Hogan High School will have
on the neighborhood. Since we are expecting a large
turnout, please let us know if you are coming by e‐mail
reply at suzricky@pacbell.net or call me at 554‐4036. You
may also call Julie Lyons 707‐246‐3716 or e‐mail her at
artdecolady@sbcglobal.net with your R.S.V.P. We are
going to need a head count so we can plan accordingly.

It has been fairly quiet in the neighborhood except for
some problems with students from the high school. I have
not heard of any break‐in problems but we have had
some graffiti, I have thanked one homeowner for taking
care of it quickly, because if you leave it up it just attracts
more. I have been sending out a number of
Neighborhood Alerts, if you are not receiving them let me
know, I use e‐mail as the most efficient way to get
them out. I also forward them to the blog. If you have
friends in the neighborhood that do not use e‐mail could
you please let them know what’s up?

I hope to see you at the meeting.
