In regard to the posting about the front door being left open.... Could you let everyone know what street it was on so we can keep an eye out. You don't have to give the exact address..thats not good to do... just what block it is on.

Since our neighborhood is kind of dark we should leave any outside lights on at night, that may help detract some of the criminal element

In response to yesterday's email, I too was awaken by the sound of a horn alarm blowing around 4:20 am. And yesterday, when I came home from work, I found my neighbor's front door wide open. There was an interior light on but no car in the driveway. At the door I called out to ask if anyone was home. I was afraid to go in. There was no answer. I called other neighbors on my street to ask if they had seen anyone at the house earlier in the day with the thought that someone forgot to close their door. No one saw anyone. After making other attempts to call neighbors and not getting any responses, I resorted to calling the police who came and searched the house. While waiting for the police, several people with dogs walked by as well as students. The street has poor lighting and the cars that passed by me could not see me standing in the street (since there are no sidewalks on our block) until they were almost upon me. After the police arrived, they reported to me and others that they found a broken window that did not lead to the interior space, and that the interior doors were secure. They also secured the main door to the house before they left. Neighbors who were with me when the police arrived, indicated that the house is not occupied but had a phone number to reach the former occupants since lots of their personal belongings were still at the house. Having had my home broken into recently, it was a bit unnerving to see something like this so close by. Let's all keep vigilant with our neighborhood watch!
